BI Assessment Solution

Innovations’ BI Assessment service comprises an intensive two-day workshop to analyze and prioritize customers’ BI initiatives. An extended 6-8 weeks version of the workshop, offers an in-depth analysis of their current BI strategy. The components include mapping the business strategy to the methodologies used for executing the strategy. It starts with a comprehensive understanding of existing BI tools and techniques and an assessment of their future effectiveness. It reviews the skills and understanding of their staff to assess the readiness for a BI implementation. It also includes a complete evaluation of key business processes to understand how BI can be used to maximize their efficiency and effectiveness.

Migration to OBI EE Solution

Oracle BI EE (Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition) is a market leading BI platform that delivers the full range of BI capabilities on next generation architecture. OBIEE forms the corner stone of Oracle’s BI strategy today. It offers several advantages over Discoverer and other BI platforms:

  • OBIEE can be used to develop full featured interactive dashboards, and reports.
  • It provides a scalable architecture that can plug into an existing BI deployment.
  • It can produce reports from several data sources—flat files, relational and multidimensional cubes.
  • OBIEE includes unique features not readily available in other BI platforms such as disconnected analytics and analytic workflows.
  • OBIEE uses Oracle’s proprietary FUSION work frame to integrate with disparate technologies such as BI Publisher reporting engine, MapViewer, Oracle Identity Management etc.

Pre-built solution to support Dynamic Hierarchies

Oracle BI Applications provide pre-built BI modules on an OBI EE platform. These include Sales Analytics, Service Analytics, Marketing Analytics, HR Analytics, Financial Analytics, etc. Oracle also introduces solutions enhancements for various industry verticals from time to time.

However, their data model, as it exists today, does not support Dynamic Hierarchies in all cases. Some of the hierarchies are built from scratch after every ETL run. As a result, when customers run the reports on historical data, they don’t see it from the right perspective. They see historical data based on current hierarchies which is a misleading reflection of the information.

At Innovations, we are building a pre-built solution to support Dynamic Hierarchies. This solution is scheduled for a launch in Fall, 2008. By using this pre-built solution, customers will be able to address the issue of dynamic hierarchies, cost effectively and in a reduced time frame.
